Matriarchal Muse

Original and contemporary mixed media painting on canvas. This piece is inspired by the female figure contemplating her matriarchal status in the world. The work began as a monotype which was adhered to canvas. I then reworked the canvas using mixed media such as tissue paper and weaved material to partially obscure the figure.
